Congratulations to Kay Shattuck

Kay Shattuck, Director of Distance Learning at Carroll, won the Distance Learning Administrator of the Year award. The award was recently presented at the Maryland Distance Learning Association conference.

According to Library Director Alan Bogage, "Kay richly deserves the award for all the work she has done administering the distance learning program at Carroll as well as the extensive statewide work she has done with Maryland Online and Quality Matters." 

Library Web Pages Hit All Time Records in Usage

The Library home page recorded the highest usage ever for FY2007.  The total number of hits on the entire site for the year was 136,885.  This reflects a 38% increase from the previous year.   Our average number of hits per day for the year was 376.  In addition, the Library had 27,282 unique visitors (external – i.e. not on campus) for the year.  This equates to an average of 75 unique visitors per day.  The busiest month was October with 20,350 hits.  The most requested pages among all the Library pages were the main Library home page, Online & Periodical Databases, Citing Sources, and Reference Resources.  Interestingly, the sample letter of permission on our copyright page was also included among the most requested.
